Seasons In Gloucestershire
Our Four Seasons
-
Winter
From Late December, in winter we occasionally get snow but mostly lots of rain. On bright days you can see Kingfishers in the winter sun.
-
Spring
As the days get longer from late march, the birds begin to nest. We can get ducklings as early as February. One of the highlights is the birth of Cygnets in May. Fro the first couple of days you might see them on their mum’s back - travelling in style.
-
Summer
From late June, in full bloom the young animals and birds explore their new world in long days. It get sunny but often rains and sometimes thunders. The insects drink nectar and get covered in pollen helping make the next generation of plants.
-
Autumn
From late September, the light and the the leaves go golden. Jays collect acorns, squirrels collect nuts, we exchange the herring gulls of summer for more of the smaller black headed gulls. The Kingfishers return and the last dragon flies look to lay their eggs before winter.
